The conclusions from the National Endowment for the Arts report released in November are dismal. According to the report, To Read or Not to Read, "Americans aren't just reading fewer books, but are reading less and less of everything, in any medium". (Like 12 minutes a day?)
How important is reading? The numbers show that good readers make better citizens. Defy the numbers and raise the national average. Check out some of the "free" material at the library.
